Twinings has been blending tea in England since 1706 and holds a Royal Warrant. They have been sourcing from the flood plains of the Brahmaputra River in Assam, northeast India since 1838 - one of only two places in the world where tea plants grow natively. Their UK Assam contains only leaves picked from June onwards, when the second flush produces the peak quality growth. Off-peak leaves simply don't make the same cup. Blended and packed in Hampshire. Biodegradable teabags.
Bold, full-bodied, and deeply satisfying with a rich, malty character and a lasting finish. Naturally higher in caffeine than most black teas - the genuine morning tea for those who need their cup to do some work. Best with milk, which softens the intensity without losing the flavour. Strong enough to cut through completely and still have character left over.
If you enjoy Twinings Assam, our Scotch and Abram's Assam is our take on that same single origin malty character - TGFOP grade loose leaf, pure Assam, nothing held back.
