During the wartime bombing of 1941 their premises were destroyed - reportedly leaving only a horse-drawn delivery van intact. They rebuilt, and the blend has barely changed since. Now owned by Twinings, Nambarrie remains the number one tea in Northern Ireland and one of the most popular in Scotland.
