Earl Grey Tea from Ridgway Tea Company
A good Earl Grey Tea begins with good black tea. Ridgways Earl Grey uses tea leaves from Nilgiri, India in the area's beautiful Blue Mountains. Then, the tea leaves are blended with oil of bergamot (the main ingredient in Earl Grey) to achieve a citrus aroma and taste.

Ridgway Tea is part of the Typhoo Tea Company. All Ridgways Teas are made in England, under care of the company's master tea blender. You can be assured of the highest quality.

Each Ridgways Earl Grey Tea comes in individually wrapped tea bags with a string and tag. So, you can take a few tea bags with you wherever you go.

Recommendation
Traditionally, the tea was served in the afternoon or early evening along with mild cheeses, cakes, tarts or creamy desserts. It can be sweetened and is best taken without milk. You can use a slice of lemon.

To Make Perfect Cup of Ridgways
Always fill your kettle with fresh, cold water every time you make tea. If you use previously boiled water, all the oxygen in the water will be gone by the time it boils a second time. The oxygen in the water is necessary to bring out the full flavor in a cup of tea.

First, bring the water to a rolling boil. Then, pour water in a mug over the tea bag. Ridgways recommends using 1 tea bag per cup. Allow tea to steep for 3 minutes and remove the tea bag. Sweeten to taste. Since this is an herbal tea, it is best not to pour milk over the tea.

Ingredients:
Fairtrade black tea (98.7%) and natural bergamot oil.

Brand History:
Ridgways Tea
England

A tea shop opened on King William St in London in 1836 marked the start of Ridgways Tea. Initially the store sold tea, coffee and spices, but later focused only on tea. The founder, Thomas Ridgway, became well-known for getting the best products from tea estates around the globe and then making superior tea. He became so well-known that those who wanted to enter the tea businesses would pay to work and learn from Thomas Ridgway. Actually, the London shop was the second store. First, he opened a tea shop in Birmingham, England, called Ridgway & Company. But, when it went out-of-business he moved to London and opened the store that marked the start of Ridgways Tea. Ridgway was renowned for making tea. Queen Victoria summoned him in 1876 to make a tea for her private use. Later, the company became King George VI's tea merchants. Today, the company still makes superior tea enjoyed by tea drinkers across the globe.
