Whittard starts in India and uses Assam Tea for its strength. Next, moving to Sri Lanka, Ceylon tea is added for depth. Then, stopping in Africa, Kenyan Tea is added for its rich color. Blending tea from these places results in a smooth version of English Breakfast. The tea also has depth and a rich flavor. Although it says Breakfast, this tea can be enjoyed any time of day.
Whittard of Chelsea English Breakfast is a winner at the Great Taste Awards. Known as the Food Oscars, the tea won a Gold Medal at the 2014 Great Taste Awards.
To make the perfect cup of Whittard English Breakfast, allow the tea to steep for 3 to 5 minutes. As with most black teas, you can add a sweetener (sugar, honey, etc) and milk if you prefer.
