Ridgways English Breakfast Tea in a Box of 20 Individually Wrapped Tea Bags

Ridways English Breakfast is a 100% Fairtrade Tea. To achieve the distinctive taste of its English Breakfast, Ridgways blends tea leaves from Assam (India), Ceylon (Sri Lanka) and select regions of Africa. Blending different types of tea achieves a specific taste. The tea brews a rich, amber color. It has malty aroma with hints of ripe autumn fruit.

Ridgway Tea is part of the Typhoo Tea Company. All Ridgways Teas are made in England, under care of the company's master tea blender. So, you can be assured of the highest quality.

Each Ridgways English Breakfast Tea comes in individually wrapped tea bags with a string and tag. So, you can take a few tea bags with you wherever you go.

Recommendation
Traditionally, the tea was enjoyed at breakfast with such fare as eggs, ham, toast. Now, it can be enjoyed any time of day. It can be sweetened and is best enjoyed with milk.

To Make Perfect Cup of Ridgways
Always fill your kettle with fresh, cold water every time you make tea. If you use previously boiled water, all the oxygen in the water will be gone by the time it boils a second time. The oxygen in the water is necessary to bring out the full flavor in a cup of tea.

First, bring the water to a rolling boil. Then, pour water in a mug over the tea bag. Ridgways recommends using 1 tea bag per cup. Allow tea to steep for 3 minutes and remove the tea bag. Sweeten to taste. Since this is an herbal tea, it is best not to pour milk over the tea.

Ingredients:
100% Fairtrade Tea leaves from Assam, Ceylon and Africa.

Brand History:
Ridgways Tea
England

A tea shop opened on King William St in London in 1836 marked the start of Ridgways Tea. Initially the store sold tea, coffee and spices, but later focused only on tea. The founder, Thomas Ridgway, became well-known for getting the best products from tea estates around the globe and then making superior tea. He became so well-known that those who wanted to enter the tea businesses would pay to work and learn from Thomas Ridgway. Actually, the London shop was the second store. First, he opened a tea shop in Birmingham, England, called Ridgway & Company. But, when it went out-of-business he moved to London and opened the store that marked the start of Ridgways Tea. Ridgway was renowned for making tea. Queen Victoria summoned him in 1876 to make a tea for her private use. Later, the company became King George VI's tea merchants. Today, the company still makes superior tea enjoyed by tea drinkers across the globe.

Ridgways English Breakfast Tea - Best Ever

I was introduced to Ridgways English Breakfast tea bags while on vacation in London. The tea was the best tasting English tea I ever had. It is smooth and has no after taste. I do not add sugar or milk/cream (but sometimes a touch of honey) when I drink it. It just doesn't need anything to make it taste better. I am so glad that I found a vendor (Teadog) that sales and ships it to US addresses. As long as I can buy this tea online, I will be a happy camper. I would highly recommend this English Breakfast Tea to others.

lacks flavor and strength

I have tried Typhoo's English Breakfast tea ( Ridgways and Typhoo are part of the same company) in the past and I feel that the quality of Typhoo has declined. The recent box of Typhoo English brkfast I purchased a few months ago had no flavor and I tried this Ridgways , hoping that maybe I had just gotten a bad batch of Typhoo tea bags.
,,
,,,,Unfortunately, I still encountered the same no flavor / no strength issue with Ridgways .
,,
,,,,I would not recommend this product.. It is like drinking colored water.
