Rather than making one of the standard desserts at Thanksgiving, try a unique tea-flavored dessert. Cupcakes are a crowd pleaser and are relatively easy-to-make. But a lot of recipes are overdone. Here is truly unique cupcake recipe using Earl Grey. Although this recipe uses Earl Grey, you could use any tea variety you prefer.
Caster Sugar 1/2 Cup
2 Earl Grey Tea Tea Bags or 1 Tablespoon of Loose Tea
1 Stick of Butter 1 stick
2 Large Eggs
1 Cup of Self raising Flour
First, preheat oven to about 320 degrees. Then, line a muffin tray with cupcake liner. Next, use the loose tea or take the tea leaves out of the tea bags and blend with the caster sugar. Stop when it looks like icing and the tea leaves are small. Now you have Earl Grey sugar.
In the next steps, stir the mix and Earl Grey Sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and mix completely together. Add flour but do not mix too much. Fill cupcakes liners and bakes for about 12 minutes.
Serves about 10.
