Description Brand History   Williamson Darjeeling Tea has a light, delicate muscatel flavor and a distinctive aroma. Darjeeling is known as the Champagne of teas and universally regarded as the finest of all teas. Instead of blending Darjeeling from a range of tea estates, Williamson carefully selects Darjeeling from a single tea estate, which offers a superior light and delicate flavor. Williamson Darjeeling Tea is grown on steep hills of the Himalayas at 4,000 to 5,000 feet above sea level. Teas are generally harvested from mid-March to April. Known as the 1st Flush, these teas are very green in character and pungent. Much of this tea is purchased by Japanese and German buyers who pay very heavy premiums to obtain the new growth. The 2nd Flush starts around mid-May and lasts until mid June, when the best teas are made and the muscatel flavor very apparent. Williamson Darjeeling Tea  is selected during this time.
