Grown in the Zhejiang Province on the east coast of China, regarded as the home of high quality green tea, only the bud and top two leaves of the Camellia Sinensis plant are hand picked in spring and gently steamed.  This renowned Sencha process yields a bright ginger-yellow liquor and smoother tasting tea which is subtle, fresh and sweet grassy in character with little bitterness. Famously, Sencha tea is popular with tea drinkers in Japan, widely regarded as connoisseurs of green tea.

In the 1800s, tea was a new, exciting and exotic beverage.  Tea blending was still being developed.  In British society, it was usual practice for consumers to blend different tea themselves at home.  Using his innovative foresight, Robert Jackson decided to offer pre-blended teas for sale directly to consumers from his warehouse in Piccadilly.  It was there that the first ever Jackson blend originated.  By 1815, Robert Jackson had established a fine reputation as a tea blender.
